Vintage Peepal/Pipal Leaf Paintings from India

Painting on Peepal leaf produces a delicate work of art. It is done on dry Peepal leaves and is one of the oldest forms of art showing the ingeniousness and patience of the artists. This art form originated because the leaves of the peepal tree have a beautiful shape as they taper to a needle point.

In excellent to very good vintage condition. Vibrant colors and only minor discoloration on a few of the leaves (see pics for detail). Each is covered by its original glassine sheet.
