Vintage Nortitake Ivory China Sauce/Gravy Boat with Attached Underplate Heather #7548

This vintage Thun porcelain sauce/gravy Boat with attached underplate features floral pattern #1456 -- with blue and pink flowers and rimmed with gold. The dish measures approximately 5"-1/2 wide x 2 1/4" tall and the underplate, 7-1/8" wide. It is marked on the bottom, "TK Thun, Czechoslovakia, Premier, 1456".

This vintage sauce/gravy boat is in excellent condition with no chips, cracks, repairs or utensil marks, and has a simple, yet elegant design. The gravy boat might also be called a sauceboat, or go by saucière (its French name) or salsera (its Spanish name).

Besides gravy, the boat can be used to drizzle chocolate sauce or caramel over desserts, ice cream or fresh fruit or warm pasta sauce over dinner entrées. Gravy boats are most fun when served unexpectedly -- like at breakfast.
