Vintage GDA Limoges France, "Hotel Beau sejour Wiltz" Tea /Coffee Cups and Saucers Set of 2 - Made in France, Circa 1901-1941, Rare Find

This pair of tea/coffee cups with saucers are from the Hotel Beau Sejour Wiltz in Luxembourg, which is a landlocked country in Western Europe bordered by Belgium to the west and north, Germany to the east, and France to the south."Beau Sejour means Beautiful Stay " and in 2025, the hotel will celebrate 150 years of service.

These 2 cups and saucers are marked GDA Limoges France and are white porcelain with the image and name of the hotel featuring white, black, green, and yellow colors.

The mark GDA was used from 1901 to 1941. GDA also known as Gérard, Dufraissex & Abbot (Emile Gerard, Jules Dufraisseix and Edgar Abbot).

Charles Field Haviland worked at Limoges with his uncle David Haviland and in 1852 began a competing porcelain decorating business at Limoges with his uncle Richard in 1859 and then formed a new company with his father in 1865. In 1902 the firm became GDA (Gerard, Dufraisseix & Abbott), with a mark of "GDA/FRANCE" which was used until 1941. (Abbott was the importer and distributor in NYC)

In excellent condition, with no cracks, crazing, stains or repairs, they measure approximately: (saucers) 5-1/4" in diameter and (cups) are 2-1/2" H. A rare find, this is a desirable pair for any collector of hotel/restaurant /railroad ware as well as a souvenir pieces.
