This vintage porcelain decanter is a great decor item -- made by Herman Jansen Distillers, of Scheidam, Holland, established in 1777. This decanter would make an awesome collector gift or a fabulous addition to any collection or display. This jug is in very good condition, measures approximately 8-1/2" high, without cork and 10-1/4 with the original cork stopper. Great as a decor piece for your home bar or for blue and white decor.
This delftware decanter, which is characterized by a blue and white color scheme, dates back to the 1940's-1950's. It is hand-painted with floral patterns and a windmill scene. This decanter was originally used for Genever, a Dutch juniper-flavored spirit. It is marked on the bottom: "H.J. 75. Herman Jansen, Distillers Since 1777, Scheidam, Holland, Delft". This decanter is a fine example of Delft ceramic art.
