Vintage Carr China "Dayton" Oval Serving bowl, Restaurant /Hotel Ware, made in Grafton W Virginia, USA. Carr China, Grafton WV (1916-1952) is a well-known manufacturer of restaurant ware. These serving bowls were popular in hotels, restaurants, and railroad dining cars due to their durability. The "Dayton" pattern is characterized by its bright red flowers on a white background.

Made in the USA, this bowl is stamped on the back, "Dayton, Carr China, Grafton, W.VA." It is a desirable serving bowl for any collector of restaurant /railroad ware. For your mid-century retro kitchen, this pattern featuring red/pink flowers on a white background is awesome. Known by many as restaurant ware, these bowls were also used in hotels, and on trains in the dining cars. They were made like iron and were made to be extremely durable and hold up well to excessive use. This serving bowl measures approximately 10" L x 7-1/2" W.
