Vintage Pyrex Tableware 793 "Copper S" Scroll Milk Glass Large Oval 11-1/2 x 8" Serving Platter, Made in USA, Circa 1950's. This Pyrex #793 pattern is associated with Pyrex Tableware by Corning, specifically with this large oval platter. This pattern is associated with mid-century design excellence and was likely produced in the 1950s.

The Pyrex Tableware line by Corning, developed in the 1940s as strengthened tableware for the Armed Forces, was introduced in 1953 as a commercial line. The #793 pattern is associated with this line.

Made in the USA, this platter is stamped on the back, "Pyrex Brand Tableware by Corning, Made in USA, 793." It is a desirable platter for any collector of Pyrex and restaurant ware. For your mid-century retro kitchen, this pattern featuring copper colored S scrolls around the rim on a white background is awesome. Known by many as restaurant ware, these platters are sometimes associated with the pattern for "Waffle House" restaurants. They were made like iron and were made to be extremely durable and hold up well to excessive use.
