Vintage Purinton Slip Ware Apple Teapot, Green and Red Folk Art Design, Made in USA, Circa 1936-1959

This Purinton Slip Ware Apple Teapot is fabulous. It features a creamy background with hand-painted green and red folk art design of apples and leaves on both sides of the teapot, as well as on the lid, handle and spout.

Made in USA, Purinton Pottery was incorporated in Wellsville, Ohio in 1936 and later moved to Shippenville, Pennsylvania, in 1941, where they continued production until the business closed in 1959.

This vintage vibrant colored Purinton teapot is quite lovely. In very good condition, with no chips or cracks, this teapot is signed "Purinton Slip Ware" on the bottom. (The outside of the teapot is in excellent condition -- inside on the bottom, there are 3 brown streaks that appear to be under the glaze, see photo 8.)

Measuring approximately 7-1/4" Wide (spout to handle) x 7-1/2" Tall (from top of lid), this beautiful teapot would make a great addition to any teapot collection/display as well as a special occasion gift, for a collector. A unique vessel to serve your tea for yourself or guests. Holds up to 3-1/2 cups.
