Vintage 1940's-1950's Shawnee Pottery "Boy and Tree Trunk" Planter, also commonly known as the "Boy by Stump" Planter

$18.00

Here is a vintage Shawnee Pottery "Boy and Tree Trunk" Planter, also commonly known as the "Boy by Stump" or "Boy in Blue" planter. This planter was created by Shawnee Pottery, an American company that produced a wide range of pottery and ceramic items from 1937 to 1961. This specific figural planter is associated with the mid-20th century, particularly the 1940s and 1950s.

The planter features a ceramic figurine of a boy, often depicted in blue and yellow hues, leaning against a tree stump which serves as the planter portion. Marked "USA 533" on the bottom.

In very clean vintage condition. Some crazing and surface glaze cracks (common for this type and age of pottery), no chips or repairs, shows extremely well. Approximately 6 1/2" tall x 4 1/2" wide

Shawnee Pottery is known for its charming and often whimsical designs, making it a popular area for collectors of vintage American ceramics. While Shawnee is famous for its "Corn King" dinnerware and highly sought-after cookie jars, figural planters like the "Boy and Tree Trunk" are also desirable collectibles.
