Vintage 1960's Franciscan Desert Rose Pitcher, Made in USA. This beautiful pitcher is hand decorated embossed earthenware. The Desert Rose pattern by Franciscan premiered in 1941. It was a distinctly American contrast to traditional European bone china. Desert Rose went on to become one of the largest selling casual tableware patterns in the history of dinnerware.
The pattern features a hand-painted under glaze floral design with a palette of natural pinks, yellows, and greens. The bold earthenware bodies of each piece are accented with embossed serpentine vines that perfectly complement the green leaves and elegant rose blossoms that cascade across each piece.
It's marked on the bottom and measures approximately 6-1/2" T x 6-1/2' W ( from spout to handle).
Condition is excellent with no cracks, chips, or crazing. This beautiful delicate flower pitcher would make a great addition to any earthenware collection/display as well as a special occasion gift for a collector.
