Vintage Lenox Nativity Vignettes "The Wise Men" Collector Plate, Made in Usa, Circa 1994

This vintage "Lenox Nativity Vignettes "The Wise Men" collector plate measures approximately 8-1/4" in Diameter. It is made of ivory porcelain bisque with a gold trim and features a bas-relief, non-pierced design. Bas relief (French for Relief) is a sculptural technique where the sculpted elements remain attached to the solid background surface of the same material -- which means the design is raised.

This collector plate is simply lovely and would be a nice addition to your holiday decor. It is in excellent condition with no cracks or chips, or stains.

The plate is stamped on the back, "Nativity Vignettes, The Wise Men, Lenox, Made in USA, Issued 1994". For most of the 20th century, Lenox was the most prestigious American maker of tableware, and the company produced other decorative pieces as well. Several Lenox china services were commissioned for the White House. By 2020, it was the last significant manufacturer of bone china in the United States, until the pandemic forced the closure of the company's only remaining American factory, making Lenox made in the USA, more collectible and rare.
